Volunteering with Museums & Galleries Edinburgh is a great way to gain new skills and experiences, learn about museum work, make new friends and provide a valuable contribution to our service.
Volunteer activity is enormously varied, reflecting the diverse skills and experience volunteers bring. Volunteering is vitally important to Museums & Galleries Edinburgh and we really value the enthusiasm and dedication of our volunteers.
There are currently over 60 volunteers engaged in a wide variety of roles across Museums & Galleries Edinburgh. Volunteer roles include collections documentation, visitor engagement, giving guided tours, helping at events, gardening, costumed historical interpretation and assisting with marketing and social media.
All of our volunteering roles are advertised here. We receive a high volume of enquiries regarding volunteering but will only recruit volunteers when a specific role is available.
To join our mailing list and receive notifications when new opportunities become available please complete a Volunteer Enquiry Form and send to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Unfortunately we do not have the capacity to take on Erasmus placements, work experience placements, volunteers under 18 or student placements that do not have set learning outcomes.
