Built in the 1590’s with substantial additions dating from 1820’s, Lauriston was not founded on the profits of slavery or colonialism, but there are connections to slavery and colonialism within its history of ownership and within some of its collections.

Nicola Murray will give an informal illustrated talk about her art practice, looking at an eclectic back-catalogue of work inspired by her interest and training in science, including the cyanotypes that she began to develop in 2008 using material from the plant waste bays at the Royal Botanic Gar
