Take a stroll around Scotland and you'll find a dazzling array of fortifications, from Iron Age brochs and medieval castles to modern fortresses bristling with cannons - sometimes all within sight of each other! This talk introduces all the main types of fortified sites in Scotland and shares plenty of examples for you to explore once it's over. More than a mere survey of sites, Towers of Power emphasises the factors that led to these amazing structures' rise, evolution, and fall, and why they still matter to us today.  David C.
