The Story of Huntly House by Lute
The Museum of Edinburgh is in a building also known as Huntly House. It dates back to the 1540s, and has seen major developments every century since. This informal recital will take visitors on a musical journey through the building’s history by linking the extraordinary wealth of the lute repertoire in Europe to exhibits on display and events in Edinburgh’s story. From a young age, Nico Tyack has always been fascinated with the music of the Renaissance and early-Baroque. He’s been playing the Classical Guitar since he was 7 and took up the lute while at university. He works as Collections Information Officer for Museums & Galleries Edinburgh, where he can indulge his passion for all things Early Modern.
