For Black History Month in October 2018 The Coalition for Racial Equality and Rights (CRER) and the City Art Centre would like to invite you to a series of afternoon talks that will give an insight into Scotland’s history. The talks are free and take place at The City Art Centre

Diana Webster discovered an American children’s book ‘The Story of the Edinburgh Doll’, which told how ‘little Mary’s doll’ was sent from Edinburgh to the Boston Anti-Slavery Bazaar in 1852. While researching to find out if the story were true, Diana learned about the network of Scotswomen, part of the ‘Transatlantic Sisterhood’ who raised funds for the anti-slavery cause.
