Professor Sir Geoff Palmer will lead a talk that explores how legacies of slavery continue to impact Scottish society and have shaped the built environment of Edinburgh and Glasgow.
 

Professor Emeritus Sir Geoff Palmer OBE is an Honorary Freeman of Midlothian, Scotland, gained an OBE in 2003 and was Knighted in 2014 for his contributions to science, charity and human rights. He maintains charitable links with Jamaica. Professor Palmer has been part of the Windrush Campaign. He is currently the Chancellor of Heriot Watt University.

Museums and Galleries Edinburgh work annually with CRER (The Coalition for Racial Equality and Rights) to host and deliver lectures for Black History Month. The Coalition for Racial Equality and Rights works to eliminate racial discrimination and harassment and to promote racial justice across Scotland.
