Professional artist, linguist and traveller - Mary Cameron (1865-1921) was a woman ahead of her time. Today, however, her name is virtually unknown. This illustrated lecture, timed to mark International Women’s Day and complementing our current exhibition Mary Cameron: Life in Paint, places this inspirational artist back in the spotlight, tracing the story of her remarkable career. Dr Helen Scott is Curator of Fine Art at the City Art Centre.
