For Black History Month in October 2018 The Coalition for Racial Equality and Rights (CRER) and the City Art Centre would like to invite you to a series of afternoon talks that will give an insight into Scotland’s history. The talks are free and take place at The City Art Centre

Professor Sir Geoff Palmer will describe his journey from Jamaica to London to join his mother. She arrived in London in 1948, the year the Windrush ship arrived. He will also describe the difficulties of getting an education in the era of the racism of Enoch Powell and how he developed the science of cereal grains, Scottish Caribbean historical connections and became the first Black professor in Scotland.
