Put down your phones, step away from computers, TVs, and tablets. Take a break from the hustle and bustle everyday life in this slow hand stitching workshop. Slow hand stitching is all about stitching with intention and being absorbed in the moment. The only skill you need for this workshop is to be able to thread a needle and sew.
In this workshop you will learn the historical quilting technique of English Paper Piecing (EEP). We will make coasters in the workshop, however once you’ve mastered the technique it can be adapted for larger projects. In the morning everything will be ready for you to begin your mindful sewing journey. All you need to do is choose your fabric pattern and colour combination. In the afternoon you will practice how to prepare the materials ready for EEP so you will have the knowledge to continue your journey at home.
You will receive a class handout with all the information you need, and all materials will be provided for you, just bring yourself.
Karen will have a cash pop up shop on the day with packs made up if you would like to continue with some EEP coasters at home. With artist Karen Thomson.
All our adult workshops include a free supply of fresh coffee and tea. Please remember to either bring a packed lunch or we have Mimi’s café on site where you can have a delicious light lunch.
