Come and have fun in our family area in the heart of Museum of Edinburgh right next to Greyfriar Bobby's gallery. Our activity area is packed full of art materials and worksheets relating to our galleries and amazing objects relating to the history of Edinburgh.  We offer a warm and welcoming space for family groups to work creatively together and to stay as long as you like. Open daily 10am-5pm.

Museum of Edinburgh and our family activity area is a venue and space which is part of the ‘Warm and Welcoming Spaces’ programme in City of Edinburgh Council.

With the colder months of the year now upon us City of Edinburgh Council is pleased announce the launch of a network of Warm and Welcoming Spaces across the capital.

Council venues such as libraries, community centres, museums and galleries, alongside partner and community spaces, will put on free activities for a variety of age groups and provide a space where people feel safe, warm, and at ease.   Residents will be able to find out more about the initiative and find their nearest ‘Warm and Welcoming Spaces’ via an interactive map on our dedicated webpage: https://www.edinburgh.gov.uk/warm-welcoming-spaces
