This lecture will look at the industries of the Old Cramond Parish, with a focus on the Mills of the River Almond and the impact of the Industrial Revolution in the 1800s. Bill Weir is part of the Cramond Association and has undertaken considerable work researching North Edinburgh area. Bill has undertaken the research of the mansion houses for the Cramond Association and Heritage Trust, as outlined in the 1773 Parish Map. He will share his findings with us.
