You are invited to join the cast of Edinburgh Living History as they portray the manner in which the residents and staff of the castle may have celebrated Christmas in 1910.  How do the family and staff prepare for the day, despite it not being a public holiday in Scotland at this time? Discover how decisions may have been reached about the introduction of a Christmas tree and other decorations such as Christmas cards and crackers. How do the downstairs staff react to this increase in their workload or are they simply looking forward to the prospect of the Hogmanay Dance in the nearby church hall?

Lauriston Castle will be “brought to life “ at 11.00 a.m. and again at 1.30 p.m.
