Celebrating the Coronation of Charles III & National Gardening Week

 The Friends of Lauriston Castle Estate, to support the Museums & Galleries team, are, on the afternoon of Friday 5 May and the morning of Monday 8 May, are undertaking tours of Lauriston Castle's unique and varied plant collection, and highlighting the links that Lauriston Castle has had, over numerous years,  to Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh and Royal Caledonian Horticultural Society, as well as the history behind the Royal Scots Memorial Garden, and the Kyoto Garden.  The Friends of Lauriston Castle Estate are one of numerous Friends groups who support the City's Parks & Greenspace team as well as being part of the It's Your Neighbourhood campaign, in which they are 'Thriving'. 

 

Monday 8 May

10am. Meet in the Castle Courtyard, near Mimis. The tour will last about an hour 

 

 The two tours  are 'drop in', and free but donations towards the work of the Friends of Lauriston Castle Estate would be welcome  if you wish further information please email chairatfolce@googlemail.com

 

For Families

On Monday 8 May from 10am until noon pop into the courtyard at any time and sow a small pot of Regal coloured Nasturtiums. Germinate your pot at home and then plant them out, letting them self seed,  giving memories for years to come of this special Coronation weekend.
