Spend a morning at enchanting Lauriston Castle exploring magical crafts inspired by the world of Harry Potter.
Create incredible dragon's eggs, and view them through hand-made magician's glasses. Paint the eggs with bright colours and imagine the dragons inside them. Make sure they don't hatch before you get home!

In partnership with the British Library, Edinburgh City Libraries will be capturing the traditions of folklore and magic at the heart of the Harry Potter stories. Delving deep into their archives to bring you a display of magical treasures and tales from your local area, celebrate the 20th anniversary of the publication of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone with Edinburgh City Libraries. We are proud to be working with libraries and be part of this city-wide celebration at the Writers' Museum and Lauriston Castle.
