Kellie Castle was a huge influence on the painter John Henry Lorimer. For this online talk, Dr Antonia Laurence-Allen, National Trust for Scotland’s Regional Curator for Edinburgh and East, will take you on a journey linking the paintings with the property to reveal what is real and imagined in John Henry’s genre scenes. Genre is the term for representations of everyday or domestic life.

Dr Antonia Laurence Allen is the National Trust for Scotland’s Regional Curator for Edinburgh and East and  will share collections, stories and projects from properties as diverse as Canna House, Brodie Castle and Tenement House.
