Make an artist’s folded book of observed plant life growing in unusual conditions in this two part video stream. In this first video we will look at selected images from the exhibition ‘Paul Duke: No Ruined Stone’. This exhibition shows photographs by the artist documenting the Muirhouse area of Edinburgh where he grew up in the mid-1960s to early 1980s. The project was developed to reconnect the artist with his roots and his images combine landscape, details of urban areas and portraits of local people encountered during his regular visits to the area. In this first video artist Tessa Asquith-Lamb will explore images of landscape and urban areas and how nature exists alongside us and returns. In the second video join artist Tessa Asquith-Lamb to look for signs of nature thriving or returning in everyday settings, plants and flowers growing from concrete, walls or pavements. We will sketch these elements in a variety of mediums and create a folded artist’s book. No need to book just join us on the City Art Centre Facebook page.
