Museums & Galleries Edinburgh is the custodian of over 200,000 items relating to the civic and cultural history of the city and, in Auld Reekie Retold, the service has launched an ambitious project connecting Edinburgh’s people to its work around the collections.
In this presentation Curator, Lyn Stevens will share her research and discoveries from behind the scenes at the Museum of Childhood during lock-down and Collections Care Officer, Gwen Thomas will discuss the conservation techniques we use to protect and preserve our collections from material damage and decay. The event will be chaired by Collections Engagement Officer, Russell Clegg.
