Saturday 17 July at 10.30am - 12 noon with follow up tutorial   ** Note change of date from 25 July **

This workshop was due to take place at Lauriston Castle but has been adapted to run as an online workshop - a combination of live teaching over Teams and follow up video tutorials that can be worked through at your own pace...

Part foraging, part mark-making and bookbinding – this Bookbinding & Botanicals workshop introduces a range of low fi leaf printing techniques and 3 bookbinding projects that invite you to turn your hand-printed papers into notebooks & nature journals.

In the live session we'll make a series of reusable leaf stamps using foraged leaves as our inspiration. Together we'll explore how to use our stamps and the leaves we have collected to create ink relief prints and wax rubbings, resulting in a series of decorative papers ready to use for bookmaking.

Following the live session you'll be given access to a series of video tutorials that you can work through at your own pace. These take you through how to make:

A pressed leaf pamphlet stitch notebook
A Japanese stab twig book with botanical stamped cover
A cut and fold book

Cassandra has prepared a kit to accompany this workshop, which can be purchased directly from her - this includes bookbinding tools and all the materials you need to make a collection of reusable stamps and 6 books of varying sizes (2 of each style covered in the workshop). This kit costs £18 including UK postage. Please note: in order to receive your kit on time for the workshop, please order by 1 July. First book your place on the workshop and then buy a kit via cassandrabarron.com/2021/03/16/bookbinding-and-botanicals-kit/
