What links an old family Bible, a tiny model boat and a small boy riding a donkey? They all tell the story of Edinburgh and its remarkable people, and are all discoveries made by the Auld Reekie Retold project team.
Auld Reekie Retold is an ambitious project working through the 200,000 objects in our stores to connect them to Edinburgh’s people and in this talk, you will join Project Manager Nico in conversation with history curator Vicky as they explore some of the most interesting and surprising stories to come out of the collections so far. Expect objects which are unique, beautiful, whacky and all telling the story of Edinburgh, our Auld Reekie. We may even give a sneak peek at some of the stories we’re hoping to find in the coming months.
