In 2018-19, the National Galleries of Scotland presented a major display of work by the Glasgow-based artist Monster Chetwynd, who was nominated for the Turner Prize in 2012.
Towards the end of nineteenth century women in Edinburgh began to make inroads into the male domain of the professional artist. They sought admission to art schools where they could study alongside men and for ways to exhibit their work and to be recognised as true professionals.
