Opening times:

Please note: Due to important repairs to the main gate at the entrance to Lauriston Castle access to the car park may be restricted at times.  Contact the castle on 0131 0131 336 2060 to check if car park can be accessed. When access is restricted, pedestrian access is maintained via the East Gate, from the lane adjacent to Lauriston Farm carvery, from Lauriston Farm Road. The Castle is open by guided tour only; there is no need to book in advance.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, there will be no guided tour on Thursday 31 August.

April through October
Monday - Thursday at 2pm
Saturday and Sunday at 2pm, 2.30pm, 3pm and 3.30pm
No tours on Fridays

November through March: Saturday and Sunday at 2pm.

Admission charge: Adults £5, concessions £3, family £12.50. Payment by cash only.

Tours last approximately one hour.

Guided tours for parties of 10+ can be booked outwith these times by phoning 0131 336 2060 or by emailing lauristoncastle@edinburgh.gov.uk. Admission charge £5 per person.

Garden and castle grounds are free to visit, and open:

April through September: 8am - 8pm.
October through March: 8am - 5pm.


Facilities:

Guidebooks, postcards, and other selected items related to the collections are available for sale. 
 
Refreshments can be provided at an additional cost for pre-booked groups of 10+.

Our courtyard cafe is now open 10am - 4pm at weekends, and from April it will be open every day.


Accessibility:

The Castle is not currently accessible by wheelchair users.  Access is by stairs only because of the historic nature of the building.
