Opening times:
The Castle is open by guided tour only; there is no need to book in advance.
April through October: Monday - Thursday at 2pm; Saturday and Sunday at 2pm.
November through March: Saturday and Sunday at 2pm.
Guided tours for parties of 10+ can be booked outwith these times by phoning 0131 336 2060 or by emailing lauristoncastle@edinburgh.gov.uk
Special Tours and Events
We have one daily ‘no need to book’ guided tour at Lauriston. Just turn up at the times outlined above. You can however book tours at other times by phoning Lauriston Castle. We offer a range of pre-bookable themed tours on subjects like; Edwardian Social History, the Furniture of Lauriston, the History of the Gardens and Servants’ Lives.
Admission:
Adult: £5 (2pm tour); £8 (out of hours)
Child (under 16): £3 (2pm tour); £5 (out of hours)
Concessions: £3 (2pm tour); £5 (out of hours)
Family (up to two adults and three children under 16): £12.50 (2pm tour)
Group (10+): £3 (2pm tour); out of hours group visits are £8 adult and £5 concession.
Facilities:
Guidebooks, postcards, and other selected items related to the collections are available for sale. We do not have a café at Lauriston Castle but there are various cafes, restaurants and pubs nearby.
Refreshments can be provided at an additional cost for pre-booked groups of 10+.
Accessibility:
The Castle is not currently accessible by wheelchair users. Access is by stairs only because of the historic nature of the building.
