Museum of Childhood
The Museum of Childhood is a fun day out for the whole family. Young people can learn about the children of the past and see a fantastic range of toys and games, while adults enjoy a trip down memory lane.
Young people and adults will enjoy finding out about growing up through the ages, from toys and games to health and school days. Hands-on activities, including a puppet theatre and dressing up area, together with our fantastic museum shop, help to make your visit a memorable one.
Change of opening hours
From 1 October 2016 the Museum of Childhood will be closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Opening hours on other days will remain unchanged. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Re-Imagining the Museum of Childhood
The Museum of Childhood is currently preparing for an exciting major refurbishment of the ground floor gallery. This will create new displays for our visitors and the opportunity to present new collections. To allow for the building work necessary, the Museum of Childhood will be closed to visitors from September 2017 to the beginning of March 2018. During this time we will also have a limited enquiries and donations service.
We will keep visitors updated with information in the coming months, along with more details on how you can get involved.
You can support our refurbishment and development of the Museum of Childhood by making a donation.
