This summer, the Museum of Childhood hosts a marvellous cast of clockwork characters. In our cabinet of wonders, see forty astonishing automata from the last two centuries. Meet a beautiful musician who has long outlived her creator, and a magician who performs his hundred-year-old tricks.

Find amongst the historic machines, Pneuma: The Mechanical Egg, a spectacular series of etchings by the artist Robert Powell that explores the history, mythology and ideas connected to automata.

This interactive exhibition includes lots of moving parts - push the buttons and see machines come to life before your very eyes!
