Museum of Childhood
The Museum of Childhood is a fun day out for the whole family. Young people can learn about the children of the past and see a fantastic range of toys and games, while adults enjoy a trip down memory lane.
Young people and adults will enjoy finding out about growing up through the ages, from toys and games to health and school days. Hands-on activities, including a puppet theatre and dressing up area, together with our fantastic museum shop, help to make your visit a memorable one.
**Unfortunately we are currently unable to provide guided tours, and we are unable to accept any group bookings for the Museum of Childhood until February 2017 because of the refurbishment work planned for the venue. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.**
Change of opening hours
From 1 October 2016 the Museum of Childhood will be closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Opening hours on other days will remain unchanged. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Museum of Childhood redevelopment - please share your views!
This is an exciting time at the Museum of Childhood. We are in the process of exploring opportunities to invest in the museum’s visitor experience and would like to involve you in the process. At the moment we are developing proposals for our ground floor gallery which will focus on the redisplay and re-interpretation of objects relating to early infancy and childhood. We are also hoping to invest in the wider Museum of Childhood experience as part of a later phase of work. We would be delighted if you could spare some time to share your views with us. This survey is open to both previous visitors and non visitors to the Museum of Childhood and should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete. The survey will run until the end of the day on Thursday 8th September.
