My ceramics turn everyday items into a collage of pleasurable extravagance. I construct new objects by casting discarded knickknacks, in luxurious porcelain and bone china.

'Dirty Rotten Peaches' and 'Dream Topping' are both part of a body of work entitled 'Eat Me; Keep Me'. The series focuses on the notion of self indulgence. In exploring the parallels between ‘valuable’ and ‘everyday’ I have drawn a symmetry of opposites between porcelain and confectionary items; both are similarly self indulgent, inspire desire and are coveted, but both are fundamentally frivolous. Found objects and fruits are cast in subtly stained porcelain, and details are delicately added using an icing bag.

'Memoria - 100 Cups of Tea, Never to Be…', was originally an installation sited in the RSA Sculpture Court in 2009. This work highlights the sadness of a beautiful object that has been broken. A shattered gold tea pot lies below while its soul leaves its broken vessel in the form of 100 ghostly porcelain winged tea cups. For this exhibition I have developed 'Memoria' into a light installation. A faint glow from within will enhance the ghostly presence of each angelic winged tea cup.
