You can zoom in and out either by hovering your cursor over the map and utilising the scroll wheel on your mouse, or by clicking '+' or '-' as appropriate in the zoom bar on the left. Similarly, you can pan by clicking on the panning tool (the hand with the directional arrows) according to the direction you wish to pan in, or by clicking and dragging the page with your mouse.
