A storytelling journey for everyone to enjoy through Edinburgh's glorious Canongate.

Sir Walter Scott was inspired to pen his Chronicles of the Canongate, Charles Dickens got the idea for Great Expectations and A Christmas Carol here, and Edinburgh’s beloved makar Robert Fergusson found his last resting place at the Kirk.

Enjoy free events at The Museum of Edinburgh, Canongate Kirk, the People’s Story Museum, Acheson House, and the Scottish Parliament.

A glorious afternoon of Once Upon the Canongate  brings Edinburgh – City of Story – to life.  Our museums,  Museum of Edinburgh and the People’s Story Museum  will be hosting special events as part of this special day.

For a full programme visit the Traditional Arts and Culture Scotland website.
