More than sixty years of excavation have been carried out on Cramond’s Roman Fort and its surrounding area.

With archaeology ranging from the Mesolithic period to the early nineteenth century, a more complex picture of the history of the area is emerging.

John Dods spent his working life as an electronic engineer, first with Bruce Peebles, then with Ferranti. Since before his retirement as as Chief Engineer of the Avionic Systems Division of GEC Marconi John has been active in community affairs with Cramond Heritage Trust, Cramond and Barnton Community Council, and the Cramond Association.
