The art collections are the Fine Art collection of paintings, photographs and sculpture and the Decorative Art collection of items given beauty by skillful designers and craftsmen.

The collections of Scottish Art at the City Art Centre and the Decorative Art Collections at the Museum of Edinburgh have all been Recognised as being of National Significance.

 The City Art Centre’s collection of Scottish art dates from the 17th century, and is one of the most comprehensive in the country.
